Everyone loves bowling
The one that didn't see Batman...
So tonight was our clan night and instead of going to see batman begins, we went bowling with our students and then made them study because they are all behind with their math and reading. Bowling was really fun. A couple of them had never done it and they did really good. Well, the highest score was a 76, so it's not like they were Earl Anthony or anything, but we had fun. As you can see from the wonderful form of some of them, we have some potential pros out there. Afterwards we came back and had a really good study session. I was surprised at how much of their homework they hadn't done. So me and my co-mentor of the clan helped them study. I even did a little high school algebra which I was proud of. Granted, when I tried to help the kids in the lower level math class, I forgot how to multiply fractions, but I can still do algebra dammit!! So like many of the experiences here so far, I am amazed at how these kids react to things that I know I would have thought was crap when I was in high school. They complained before we went out bowling, but on our way back everyone was pumped up about it. Same thing with studying, they complained, but when we finished, a few of them thanked us and said it really helped. So just when I become apathetic about this job, something like this happens which makes me excited about it.
Plus, I saw and took a picture of a vole yesterday which was cool. I'm planning to catch it at some point, that should be fun.

Also, great pictures! For some reason I thought a "vole" was a type of bird, but I see now it's a nasty little rodent. Eww. (Sorry Amy, I know you named it and all).

Eros: I get to help YOU with math!! Multiply top numbers, then multiply bottom numbers. Then: SIMPLIFY!!! (You can thank Amy; she got me the book Fractions are Your Friend)
I like the picture of your fuzzy wuzzy little buddy. Catch and release only. Dont get bit. Do voles have tails?
